Installation takes approx. 15 minutes — follow the guide step by step.
All necessary parts and tools are included in your kit.
Remove the front grille from your SOUNDBOKS using the included plastic hex key
or your original 4.5 mm hex key from SOUNDBOKS.
Keep the screws in a glass or similar container so you don't lose them.
Place the grille face down on a clean surface. Clean the inside of the grille edges with a damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth.
Unscrew the 2 fasteners holding the SOUNDBOKS logo using the included hex key. The logo will come loose and can be removed. Keep these screws — they will be needed again in step 5.
Get out the black SoundGlow box. Apply the two blue thermal adhesive pads to the underside of the box (they are already inside the box — the ones covered with a plastic film).
Use the same two screws from the logo to mount the SoundGlow box behind the SOUNDBOKS logo. Tighten securely — the box now sits behind the logo.
Place the LED strip inside the grille with the diodes facing inward toward the center.
Start at the SoundGlow box and click the connector in.
Remove only a little of the red protective backing at a time and press the LED strip firmly against the inner edge of the grille.
Work your way around the grille.
The strip may be one or two LEDs too long and needs to be cut where the three copper traces meet. Use scissors or wire cutters. Cut precisely on the marked line — never in the middle of an LED.
Connect your SOUNDBOKS battery to the Y-splitter and then to the new power port in the grille.
The LED strip will turn on automatically — that's a good sign!
Test that the lights work and that the Bluetooth connection to the BanLanX app is working before closing the box.
Place all electronics inside the SoundGlow box behind the logo. Make sure the cables are not pinched. Click the lid shut.
Put your grille back on the SOUNDBOKS 3 and screw in the original screws. Tighten firmly but don't overtighten.
Attach the Y-cable to the battery — to your SOUNDBOKS and to the power port.
You're all done! Ready to light up the party.
Download the BanLanX app below and connect via Bluetooth to choose your effects.
To remove the grille, use your SOUNDBOKS ‘Grill Removal Tool’ that came with the speaker when you bought it. Hook it into the holes in the corners of the grille. Pull gently to loosen the grille, working evenly around the edges at multiple points until it can be removed by hand.
If you don’t have the removal tool, we have included a small piece of red wire that you can bend into a hook. Thread it through two holes as a loop, then use it to pull the grille off.
Place the grille face down on a clean surface. Clean the inside of the grille edges with a damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth.
Unscrew the 2 fasteners holding the SOUNDBOKS logo using the hex key. The logo will come loose. Keep these screws for step 5.
Get out the black SoundGlow box. Apply the two blue thermal adhesive pads to the underside of the box — remove the plastic film from the pads before mounting.
Use the same screws from the logo to mount the SoundGlow box behind the SOUNDBOKS logo. The box now sits behind the logo.
Place the LED strip inside the grille with the diodes facing inward toward the center. Start at the SoundGlow box, click the connector in, and work your way around. Remove the protective backing a little at a time and press the strip firmly.
The strip may need to be trimmed — only cut on the marked cut lines (where the three copper traces meet). Use scissors or wire cutters.
Connect the SOUNDBOKS battery to the Y-splitter and to the power port in the grille. The LED strip will turn on automatically. Test the Bluetooth connection to the BanLanX app before closing the box.
Place all electronics inside the SoundGlow box. Make sure the cables are not pinched. Click the lid shut.
Now put your grille back on your SOUNDBOKS 4. Press the grille in evenly along all edges.
Attach the Y-cable to the battery — to your SOUNDBOKS 4 and to the power port.
